Why every ad has a motorcycle in it

Have you ever noticed...

How many TV commercials do you see that feature a motorcycle but are selling something that has nothing to do with riding one? That's because even a person who doesn't ride knows that motorcycles are cool, and the brands' decision makers know they know…

Less than 10% of American drivers have a motorcycle endorsement, and fewer than 4% of US vehicles are motorcycles. And yet, advertising still leans on them. (We still see the ads, all the time!)

According to some, it's because motorcycles are shorthand for the feelings of freedom, self-determination, rebellious spirit, and pushing yourself to the limit. We know it intrinsically as humans. It's the steel pony, our modern-day horse.
