Riding up to the old Honeywell plant buildings in Mars Hill, North Carolina

"They hide the good stuff up there." - Verne

For the past few years, Shandoka has been looking for the right place to set up our electric motorcycle building hub. That search led us to Mars Hill, North Carolina.

Mars Hill sits in the mountains, and it's a town with a lot of history, from its early days as a place of debate and learning to its role today in education and manufacturing.

This town was once home to a Honeywell factory that played a real part in America's space and defense work. The industry moved on and the site sat quiet for years, but it's coming back to life with new companies moving in, Shandoka among them. We like being part of that, and we like what a place with that kind of manufacturing history can teach a young company.

Here at the edge of the Smoky Mountains we'll build our motorcycles, and we'll train people to build them too. We're planning training in high-voltage safety, control wiring, and motorcycle technology for anyone who wants to learn this work.

When you choose a Shandoka motorcycle, you're choosing a machine built by your neighbors in a small American town.
