Fall is for motorcycle gatherings
From our newsletter, September 2024

As the weather cools, the riding improves, and that brings motorcycle riders together for all kinds of events, but mostly rallies!
Back at the SmokeOut
The first weekend of September, we returned to the SmokeOut Rally in Salisbury, North Carolina, to catch up with riding friends, meet some new folks, and get a bit of inspiration from the custom choppers that fill the field at the Rowan County Fairgrounds. This is the place where Shandoka took "Most Original" in the ride-in chopper competition.
It's kind of hard for the same bike to be most original for a second year at the same place, and the only other category we fit was "Best Asian" bike. That honor went to this amazing Honda triple with a very unusual way to start the bike: a punch card!

It's the details that make a difference when there's judging involved, and there's no denying how much work went into this bike! But long before the bike gets built there's the idea, the vision, the dream. Our founder got to talk with the fellow who put this one together. He first thought of the build in the mid-1970s, and achieved that vision a few years ago. Consider this an invitation and encouragement to find a custom builder rally near you and go check it out!
Shandoka heads to Michigan
If you live near the great state of Michigan, come see the Shandoka motorcycles up close at 2 unique events. First up is the D.A.M. Show, by our friend "Detroit" Randy, on September 14 at the Tangent Gallery. Sure, the idea that a 1983 motorcycle is an "antique vehicle" might seem strange, but 40 years is all it takes in automotive.

The following day, you can find us an hour west in the Village of Stockbridge at their annual All Clubs Day. This event is gonna be amazing, with specialty bike clubs that focus on all Honda, or Vincent, or Norton, for example. Shandoka was invited as the first electric motorcycle at the gathering, and we couldn't be more honored!

It's so great to talk with people in person about our motorcycle systems and share our ways of converting gas bikes to electric drive. Thanks for everything you do!
